Experience

Cassandra Kenna is a women’s health GP who is passionate about providing caring, up to date and holistic care for females of all ages.

Cassie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2001 and went on to complete General Practice training in 2008. She received the Richard Gutch medal for achieving the highest overall exam score for the General Practice exam in Victoria.

She has always had a strong interest in women’s health and completed a diploma of obstetrics and gynaecology after working at the Mercy Hospital for Women for 12 months. She has also previously held positions at Family Planning Victoria and at Jean Hailes Clinic for Women. She spent several years at a general practice with a strong focus on pregnancy care and perinatal health and mental wellbeing.

She has spent many years as an examiner at the Royal Australian College of General Practice and has a strong focus on providing evidence based and up to date medicine. Cassie has a particular interest in the health benefits to be gained by making positive lifestyle choices and has done additional study learning about nutritional and environmental medicine through ACNEM. If you are working with other practitioners, Cassie welcomes a collaborative approach.

She has decided to focus exclusively on women’s health in general practice as this is an area in which she loves making a difference. Cassie’s patients have taught her they want a dedicated women’s service that deals with the health issues females face as they transition from early adulthood through to menopause and beyond.

Personal Story

I am a mother of 3 and a wife. Balancing work and home life is an ongoing journey which requires many twists and turns and I am especially interested in learning how women navigate these transitions. I am an avid reader of self help and positive psychology books as well as a meditator, nature lover and podcast fan. I feel privileged to share other women’s journeys and to learn from them.
